“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, tis near Halloween.”
This may be basic af, but October is my favorite time of year. I love that the local coffee shops smell like pumpkins, that Hocus Pocus reverences flood my social media, and that I can break out my burn orange sweaters. Whether you enjoy a Jeepers Creepers style Halloween or you’re more here for the Booz October is hands-down the best month.
If you like to Creep it Real:
Here are some nearby attractions for a HAUNTED good time 👻.
The Haunted Mill
The best part about this haunted spook is if you’re a chicken like me, there’s glow in the dark mini golf- and let’s be real who doesn’t love a good game of mini-golf.
This NC attraction has been haunting our nightmares for over 20 years. Are you ballsy enough to walk through the spook filled woods in Charlotte’s OG haunted trail?
Not into IRL jump-out-of-your-skin scaries and dark mazes? Support this local attraction and learn about our royal city all at the same time. The tour is led by lantern light and you’ll be surprised to find what ghostly secrets hide in our beautiful city.
If You’re a Little More BOOzy
There’s nothing better than cuddling on your couch with a glass of wine, a comfy legging/hoodie combp, and Halloweentown on the TV. Okay, that’s a lie- there’s nothing better than coconut rum over ice, and who honestly wears pants when they’re home alone?! The Halloweentown part is real though, 20 years later and that movie NEVER gets old.🧙
Put on your animal ears (you’re a mouse DUH), draw on some whiskers or dress full on hallo-glam. This is a College Street takeover with access to Charlotte’s hottest bars and discounts on their… special potions 😜.
This is a two-day bar crawl where the only admission price is a spooktacular costume! It’s adult trick or treating at its finest.
No matter what your style is this fall I hope this list helps you make the most of it (and my fall-arious puns helped bring some holiday cheer) Happy spooky season Charlotte!
