Park Road’s Newest Burger Spot – Smash Burger
The QC has major love for our local burger joints. Brook’s Sandwich Shop, Zack’s Hamburgers, Pike’s Soda Shop, and Park Road Soda Shoppe just to name a few. These are our classic burgers that take us back to our childhood going with our parents and grandparents after school or for a weekend milkshake treat on Sunday’s.
We have no shortage of excellent burgers in town and are accepting yet another burger restaurant shortly, Shake Shack, also located on Park Road. Let’s give these newcomers a warm welcome and celebrate with them on their grand openings.
Smashburger was founded ten years and have over 370 restaurants covering thirty-eight states and nine countries. Charlotte’s Park Road location is the store’s 375th. Check out some construction photos, set to open up next week!

What is a Smashburger?
Smashburger beef is never frozen. It is seasoned and smashed right on the grill to seal up the juices and keep it full of flavor. You can choose beef, grilled or crispy chicken, turkey burger or black bean burgers, and you can even CYO.
Each restaurant has a “regional burger” inspired by each location’s local ingredient inspirations, even craft beer. Charlotte’s burger is called the “Carolina Chili” made with beefy chili, American cheese, chopped yellow onions, Duke’s Mayo and coleslaw on a pretzel bun. There are also salads, sides and of course…SHAKES, made with Haagen-Dazs.
