From classic glazed donuts to bacon bit and cereal toppings, Charlotte has the donut for you. Here are the Top 10 Donut Spots in Charlotte (and our recommendations for the tastiest ones!).

Downtown Donuts

Downtown Donuts is run by a local family in Concord who have lived there for over eight years. Their donuts are hot and made fresh to order, so they’ll never run out of donuts! You can choose to make your own combination of glaze and toppings or choose from some of their menu suggestions. 

Location: 21 Union St N, Concord, NC 28025
Hours: Monday – Saturday from 8am – 8pm

Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts first opened in Duck, North Carolina back in 2007 and now has franchises all over the United States. Duck Donuts offers pre-made donuts, but they also offer a made-to-order donut where customers can choose a coating, topping and drizzle for their own custom creation.

Location: 1710 Kenilworth Avenue
Hours: Sunday – Tuesday from 6 am – 3 pm / Wednesday – Saturday from 6 am – 7 pm
EWP recommends: S’Mores, Peanut Butter Icing with Chocolate Drizzle, Chocolate Icing with Vanilla Drizzle

OMG Donuts & Bakery

OMG Donuts & Bakery offers both donuts and other assorted homemade pastries. Their donuts are incredibly cheap, with the most expensive donut still being under $2. 

Location: 0005 Weddington Road Ext., Concord
Hours: Tuesday – Sunday from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm (or until they sell out)

Pepperbox Doughnuts

Pepperbox Doughnuts has just recently opened their first store in South End. They create new flavors every few weeks and offer a variety of vegan options. 

Location: 101 W Worthington Ave Suite 150
Hours: Thursday – Tuesday from 7 am – 4 pm
EWP recommends: Peanut Butter Oreo, Ricotta Rhubarb, Mexican Hot Chocolate

Reigning Doughnuts

Hot, fresh donuts served from a window! Reigning Doughnuts doesn’t offer any seating, but their hot fresh donuts make up for it. They have 6 flavors available everyday (such as Vanilla and Chocolate icing), and a featured “donut of the day” that rotates throughout the week.

Location: Thewindow facing 35th Street at 3120 North Davidson Street
Hours: Monday – Friday from 7am – 11am and 7pm – 11pm / Saturday – Sunday from 7am – 4pm and 5pm – 11pm
EWP recommends: Vanilla Icing with sprinkles (available everyday) or Lemon Poppy Seed (pictured – available on Saturdays)

Suarez Bakery

Suarez Bakery makes all of their pastries from scratch. Not only do they serve donuts, but they make custom cakes and cookies, fresh bread, brownies, bars, cupcakes, pies and other pastries. They even make “message donuts” where the donuts are shaped into letters!

Hours: Monday – Friday from 10 am – 6 pm / Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm / Sunday from 10 am – 4 p m

SUGAR Handmade Donuts
SUGAR Handmade Donuts are made from scratch and their glazes, fillings and toppings are all handmade by their pastry chefs. Their menu changes every month and some flavors vary by week. They also offer made to order GF donuts (until 11 am) as well as some vegan options.

Location: 11914 Elm Lane
Hours: Wednesday – Friday from 7 am until they’re sold out / Saturday – Sunday from 7:30 am until they’re sold out

The Donut House
The Donut House is a family owned bakery that makes their donuts from scratch. They were selected by NBC Charlotte as the best donut shop in Charlotte in 2018. They offer a variety of donuts covered coated cookies and candies as well as apple fritters.

Location: 13803 East Independence Boulevard
Hours: Monday – Saturday from 6 am – 4:30 pm (or until they sell out)

Uncle D’s Southern Donuts

Uncle D’s doesn’t serve your typical round donut. Their donuts are moist and bundt-cake style and come in a variety of flavors. All of their flavors were inspired by the owners’ Grandmother who was known for her delicious bundt cakes – which is why their donuts are shaped that way.

Hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 9 am – 2 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm

Your Mom’s Donuts

Your Mom’s Donuts first began with home deliveries in 2013, and they opened their first store in 2014. Their donuts have no preservatives or artificial ingredients. Their donuts are made with locally-sourced ingredients that are in season and there are 12-15 flavors available daily.

Hours: Monday – Saturday from 7 am – 5 pm / Sunday from 8 am – 1 pm
EWP recommends: Salted Caramel, Lemon Honey and Cinnamon Sugar with Buttercream Icing (all standard flavors)
